Mikhail Larionov, 1881-1964

Guillaume Apollinaire (1880-1918) was an art critic, poet and artist who met Sergei Pavlovich Diaghilev (1872-1929) in Paris.  Diaghilev, the Russian ballet impressario and founder of the Ballets Russes and Apollinaire were part of the same creative artistic circle who experimented with the ideas of Surrealism and Cubism in their work.

Diana Gould (later Lady Menuhin) danced for Diaghilev  when she was 14 years old whilst attending the Rambert school of ballet in London. Diaghilev asked her to join his company only to die weeks later, and so she remained at the Rambert.
