three-quarters plate movement with going barrel, wound by a fixed key on back, cylinder escapement, small plain brass three armed balance, blued steel spiral hairspring with terminal curve, silvered dial, outer ring calibrated for sweep seconds, two subsidiary dials indicating one-hundredth seconds and jump minutes, nickel-plated case, dial signed Charles Frodsham, 27 South Molton St., London.

For an old advertisement illustrating 'the Time of Flight Instrument' see, Mercer, The Frodshams, pp. 207 and 421, pl. 92. The advertisement describes "the instrument is extremely accurate for short trials (up to 60 seconds) and is used for timing the flight of projectiles or for any short trials."  The price at the time was listed as £30.  It is interesting to also note that the present lot includes an extra subsidiary dial that is calibrated for jump minutes.
