Catalogue Note

Kagekastu was the son of Nagao Masakage and brother-in-law to Kenshin. He restored the order in the Etchu and Kaga Provinces, served Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi. He was given the title of Chunagon (councellor) and was chosen to be one of the Go-Tairo (five regents) during the minority of Hideyoshi's son, Hideyori.
