18k, nickel lever movement stamped with the seal of Geneva, 18 jewels, gyromax balance, free sprung regulator, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, silvered matte dial, applied Breguet numerals, circular water-resistant-type case, case back engraved "Harrods Knightsbridge 1849-1999 Celebrating 150 Years 14/35", case, dial and movement signed, with 18k pink gold Patek Philippe buckle, accompanied by Patek Philippe cardboard slipcase, box and certificate.

Catalogue Note

In 1999, Patek Philippe produced 35 wristwatches, of the reference 3923, in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Harrods department store in London.  The current lot represents number 14 in this series.

Harrods, located in the fashionable district of Knightsbridge, was founded by Charles Henry Howard who had previously made his way as a successful grocery wholesaler and tea merchant.  By 1902 Harrods had expanded and became London's largest store and to this day the company remains London's top retail venue.
