two identical circular rhodium plated lever movements, each with 21 jewels, mono-metallic compensation balance and adjusted to 5 positions, silvered guilloche dial with 2 individual small dials displaying two different time zones, upper dial with Roman numerals, inner minute ring and secret signature at X, lower dial with Roman and baton numerals, both dials further set with applied white gold numeral at 9 appeared as 99, blued steel sword hands, curved tonneau case with polished bezel and 2 sapphire cabochon set crowns, curved screwed-down case back, case, dial and movements signed, with an 18k white gold Cartier deployant buckle.

Cartier specially created this limited edition "Tonneau" wristwatch with applied white gold numerals appeared as 99 to commemorate the hand-over of Macau to the Peoples Republic of China in 1999. Production of this rare model was limited to only 99 examples, which including 77 right-handed pieces and 22 left-handed pieces. The current lot being offered at auction is left-handed and it is numbered 79.
