Catalogue Note

These two Reverso wristwatches with miniatures painted in polychrome enamels were inspired by two of the most fascinating prints, "Aurore" and "Crepuscule" by the famous Czech Art Nouveau painter Alfons Mucha in the 19th century.

Wonderfully reproduced in exquisite detail and proper enamel colours by Miklos Merczel, the master-enameller from Jaeger-LeCoultre. This special set was created in a very limited series of only 25 examples, and the present lot being offered at auction is numbered 16.
