Catalogue Note

The canvas verso having, in faded red ink or paint, two inscriptions and a drawing of a man in shirt, trousers and floppy hat, a pipe clenched in his teeth and his arms in the air; the inscriptions reading, My dad was one/16(?) and B. W. Davison 1852.
