Gao Jianseng 1894-1916

Signed Gao Jianseng, dated the third year of the Republic, 1914, fifth month, summer, and with two seals of the artist

Gao Jianseng, together with his brothers Gao Jianfu (1879-1951) and Gao Qifeng (1889-1933), was called "The Three Gaos of the Lingnan School". In 1912, he went to Shanghai with his brothers and issued a publication of Chinese paintings. Later, he pursed further studies on craftmanship and fine arts in Japan and passed away there at the age of twenty-three.
