Cartier

18k, circular nickel lever movement, mono-metallic balance, silvered engine turned dial, roman and baton numerals, the shaped rectangular inner case with stepped bezel mounted on a swivel within a rectangular frame, dial and movement signed, with an 18k gold Cartier deployant buckle.

Cartier was bought in 1972 by a private group and, although the Cartier family no longer ran the firm, the French press concluded that, "a breeze of dynamism and youth is blowing at 13 Rue De La Paix," (Barracca, Negretti and Nencini, Le Temps De Cartier, p.241.)
