A stainless steel rectangular wristwatch with sector dial and faceted case, Patek Philippe & Co., Genève, retailed by Hausmann & Co., no. 825132, 1931

gilt lever movement stamped twice with the seal of Geneva, bi-metallic compensation balance, silvered dial sectored with black enamel tracks and baton numerals, subsidiary seconds, satin finished rectangular faceted case with polished outer edges, case, dial and movement signed, accompanied by an Extract from the Patek Philippe Archives.

The accompanying extract records the date of manufacture as 1931 and subsequent sale on May 30th of 1934.

Sector dials are favored by collectors for their clean bold design. The present watch would appear to be one of the earliest examples of the 'Sector' dial, a style that Patek Philippe made popular during the 1930s. These dials are notable for the manner in which time divisions are marked and can often be complex in their design, especially when seen on rare sector dial chronographs. In all cases, sector dials were used sparingly.
