Richard Garbe British, 1876-1957

Described as a cautious modernist, Garbe's work ranges from small scale ivory carvings to monumental architectural designs.  His art bridges the diversity of styles in early twentieth century sculpture being equally fluent as a modeller and carver.   Garbe exhibited a group of Mother and Child  at the Royal Academy in 1945 and at the Royal Scottish Academy in 1946.
