  • bronze, dark brown patina heightened with gilding

  • 80cm., 31½in.

Catalogue Note

The bust of Helen is derived from the full length statue which Clésinger made in 1864 during his sojourn in Rome.  A marble version of the full length figure was sold as lot 215, Sotheby's London, 11 July 2001.
