Catalogue Note
In 1876 Lanson's Jason and the Golden Fleece won him the Grand Prix and the Prix de Rome, and was exhibited in the Salle des grands prix de sculpture at the École des Beaux-Arts. The Susse foundry owned the rights to edit the model, which they cast in five sizes, from 37cm. to the original size of 1.78m.
