Catalogue Note

Augurelli (1456-1524) wrote both Latin and Italian poetry in the style of Petrarch, and was part of the humanist circle of Pietro Bembo in Venice. The first appearance in print of his poetry was in 1491, and the Aldine edition includes many new verses written between 1491 and 1503, edited by Aldus himself.
