31 1/2-cm brass dial with matted centre, engraved silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals signed Symon van Leeuwen Amsteldam, apertures for date and day with day-sign below within a foliate engraved surround, penny moon above with moondays and tide, fine pierced hands and silvered alarm disc, gilt season spandrels, movement with five well ring turned knopped pillars, anchor escapement and Dutch half hour striking on two bells, alarm on a bell, case with flat moulded top, pierced frets above and to the sides, square glazed door with lightwood inlay flanked by canelled pilasters, the trunk with ebonised moulding and an elaborate inlay of birds, flowers and scrolls, long door with oval lenticle, rectangular base raised on bun feet, minor restorations
