movement with pinwheel escapement and countwheel striking on a bell, 8-cm gilt engine turned dial with Roman numerals bearing the signature Breguet et Fils, Breguet hands, forming the lower part of a fine temperature compensated gridiron pendulum, knife-edge suspended from the ormolu mounted white marble case, the stepped top with finely pierced ormolu mount, supported by two ormolu capped columns on the rectangular base with a beat plaque mounted with a fine pierced mount and relief acanthus moulding, the whole raised on flat feet
