Description
with slightly curved blade double-edged towards the point, etched on each side with a Turk's head and stars (rubbed), silver hilt comprising globular quillon, knuckle-guard swelling towards the centre, small scallop-shaped down-turned shell-guard, shaped pommel cap, and carved ebony grip; a Continental small-sword, third quarter of the 18th Century, with hollow-triangular blade, and brass hilt cast, pierced and chiselled with animals, trophies-of-war and scrollwork; another small-sword, early 19th Century, with steel hilt; a Naval Officer's sword and dirk, last quarter of the 18th Century, the sword with five-ball hilt; an Edward VII Chief Petty Officer's sword, in its scabbard; and an Officer's sword by Osborn, late 18th Century, with curved single-edged blade, brass stirrup-hilt, and in its original leather scabbard
