Catalogue Note
After studying and working in Japan, Nam Jun Paik came to the States in 1964. He has had retrospective shows at the Museum of Modern art, Seoul, at The Whitney Museum of American Art in 1993 and at the Guggenheim Museum, New York in 2000. He has been an important figure in avant-garde art throughout his career, and his innovative work in the fields of video, performance and installation art has had a profound influence.
