GRACE Y.T. TONG (b.1942)

The calligraphy reads: Zhizhi zhe buru Haozhi zhe; Haozhi zhe buru Lezhi zhe; and in translation: To be fond of something is better than merely to know it, and to find joy in it is better than merely to be fond of it. Grace Tong was born in Taiwan in 1942 and began practising calligraphy at an early age.  Her works have been exhibited in Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Canada, the U.S.A. and London.
