Catalogue Note
Wucius Wong was born in Guangdong province, before moving to Hong Kong, where he joined the Hong Kong Art Club. In 1956 he became a member of the Modern Literature and Art Association and, between 1961-65 he acted as assistant curator in the Hong Kong City Hall Museum and Art Gallery. He studied painting under Lu Shoukun and became a member of the New Ink Painting Movement of the 1960s. After a prominent career as a landscape painter in Hong Kong, he moved to the U.S. in 1984.
