Catalogue Note

Wang Xiaonan was the daughter of Wang Dafan, the famous 'Eight Friends of Zhushan' painter.

This vase depicts a scene typical of the Cultural Revolution, when people were often obliged to travel to the countryside to work for the social good, as well as to learn from the peasantry.
