Catalogue Note

Xiao Qin, known for his oil paintings, was born in Shanghai and moved to Taiwan.  He studied modern painting in Spain in 1956 and became a founding member of the Ton Fan group.  In 1961 he co-founded the 'Punto' movement  in Milan, before settling in New York.
