Catalogue Note

According to Lafuente Ferrari, the sitter for the present work was said to be an actress from Madrid. Based on an old photograph of the painting, the present canvas has either been cut down from a larger full length portrait entitled La Trini or Rosarito that was shown in Buenos Aires in 1910 and across the USA during 1916 and 1917, or that the present work is a bust length replique of the larger work (Lafuente Ferrari, 1950, p. 220, discussed).
