Catalogue Note

The present work appears to be identical to Mois de Marie, which Thaulow exhibited in 1901 at the Salon de Champs-de-Mars. Thaulow first depicted this subject as a pastel in 1893, when he lived in the small town of Montreuil-sur-mer. He reworked this theme several times before exhibiting the final version at the Salon.
