Folio. Greek and italic type. Woodcut printer's device on title, one woodcut historiated initial, many woodcut decorative initials; outer corner of title frayed, occasional light stains. Contemporary German blind-stamped pigskin, stamped supralibros in central panel of each cover; clasps and catches lacking, back painted gray.

First edition of this text and translation by the humanist, historian and jurisconsult Johann Loewenklau (1553-1593), known for the precision of his Greek and the correctness of his Latin. His dual-language edition followed the Estienne text, with emendations.
