Catalogue Note

This delightful portrait depicts the two children of Count Jozsef Majlath (1858-1940) of Slovakia which de Laszlo painted in 1896. The portrait hung in the library at the Count's castle in Perbenyik (now called Pribenik).

With thanks to The Hon. Mrs. de Laszlo and Christopher Wentworth-Stanley who are compiling the Catalogue Raisonné of works by Philip de László.
