Catalogue Note
The sitter was the only daughter of Admiral Sir John Thomas Duckworth (1748-1817) and his wife, Anne. In 1803 she married Sir Richard King (1774-1834) who was a Vice-Admiral and, in the same year the present picture was drawn, commanded the Achille in the Battle of Trafalgar
