Description

after Sir Thomas Lawrence, the Prince depicted in Field Marshal's uniform, with the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece, and stars of the Order of the Garter and the Order of the Guelph, enamel on gold, cracked, silver-gilt bezel, set in the lid of a rectangular tortoiseshell box with silver-gilt mounts, oval 3.8cm, 1 1/2 in; and a circular gold-mounted blond tortoiseshell powder box, probably French, late 18th century, the lid inset with a verre églomisé depiction of Venus and Cupid, gold leaf tip and marcasite borders, slight damage, diameter 8cm, 3 1/8 in , in associated leather case
