Marijke C. de Kinkelder has kindly pointed out, on the basis of photographs, that although signed with the monogram of Jan Martszen, this painting is more close in style to the works by Abraham van der Hoef (1611/2-1666), such as a signed picture, sold Amsterdam, Sotheby's, 10 May 1994, lot 56.
