Catalogue Note
rare. Percy Carpenter, an English artist, was in Singapore from 1855 to 1857. This panoramic scene stretches from Pearl's Hill to Tanjong Rhu, with Mount Erskine and Government Hill in the centre. The original picture painted in 1856 is in the Singapore History Museum.
