Catalogue Note
This unique work was executed under the guidance of André Metthey, a potter who worked in Asnières. Rouault was introduced to Metthey through his dealer, Ambroise Vollard, and between 1906 and 1912 he decorated a number of ceramics at Metthey's studio.
