Catalogue Note

Gauguin executed the present work during his stay at the Auberge Marie Henry in Le Pouldu. Together with Meyer de Haan, Paul Serusier and Charles Filiger, he decorated the dining room of the inn with carvings, paintings and decorative objects, including painted ceramics such as the present work.
