A rare gold glazed hunting cased minute repeating perpetual calendar watch with moon phases, ALBERT H. POTTER & CO., GENEVA, no. 327, circa 1880

nickel lever movement, wolf's tooth winding, bi-metallic compensation balance, slide repeat, glazed cuvette, white enamel dial, roman numerals, four subsidiary dials indicating day, date, month combined with leap year indication and constant seconds combined with phases and ages of the moon, polished case, case, dial and movement signed.

Albert H. Potter (1830-1908) was born in Saratoga County, New York and later served his apprenticeship in Albany. In 1855, he established himself in New York City. After later spending five years working in Cuba, he returned to the United States and organized a watch company with his brother William Cleveland Potter.

In 1876, he moved to Geneva where he produced approximately 600 watches. His complicated watches sold for prices beginning at $250.
