Catalogue Note
In 2001, A. Lange & Söhne presented its Centennial Tourbillon, in a limited series of 150 in platinum and 250 in pink gold only. With its tourbillon carriage completing one rotation per minute around its axis, this 'Lange 1 Tourbillon' compensates for the effects of gravity on the escapement and thus on the rate of the watch. The present pink gold example being offered at auction is numbered 100.
