nickel lever movement with Cotes de Geneve decoration, 36 jewels, mono-metallic balance, adjusted to 5 positions, black matte dial with Arabic numerals and triangular marker, aperture for date at 3, outer minute ring with baton and luminous indices, central sweep seconds, luminous baton hands, brushed circular case and bezel, inner case made of anti-magnetic soft iron, water-resistant type case with screw-down crown and case back, case, dial and movement signed, with a brushed stainless steel IWC buckle.

IWC replaced Mark XII by a new model (Mark XV) in 1999. Different from the current Mark XV which fitted with a base caliber from ETA (Cal. 2892A2), the movement of this discontinued Mark XII was actually produced with the base caliber from Jaeger-LeCoultre (Cal. 889/2).
