Jim Baxter was the Rangers left-half between 1960 & 1965 & during this highly successful period won 3 Championship, 3 Scottish Cup & 4 Scottish League Cup medals. He was also a European Cup Winners' Cup finalist in 1961. 'Slim Jim' also won a total of 34 Scotland international caps. He also represented the Scottish League on 5 occasions. After spells in England with Sunderland & Nottingham Forest, he returned to Rangers in 1969 retiring as a player in November 1970 to become a Glasgow licensee.
In the 1964 Scottish League Cup final, Rangers demolished Morton 5-0. Rangers won the Scottish domestic treble in this season.
