8vo, titles within woodcut typographic border, ruled in red throughout, ownership inscriptions and mounted engraving on front endpaper, contemporary Cambridge binding of black goatskin, the covers tooled in gilt with a border composed of various rolls, enclosing a large panel formed by a dotted roll, volute and scroll tools, etc., with a fleur-de-lys at the outer corners and flanked by the initials "A" and "F", and a lozenge-shaped centrepiece of volutes and scrolls, the whole design interspersed with large dots, smooth spine panelled in gilt with a dog-tooth and other rolls, and filled with various tools including a flower-head, two silver hasps in the shape of a cherub's head attached to goatskin straps, and silver catch pins, gilt edges, recased in the nineteenth century with new marbled endpapers and headbands, a little rubbed

Loosely inserted are two autograph letters signed by Sarah Byron, a previous owner of this Bible, to John G. Stillwell, offering the book to him as a gift and discussing an auction at Castle Hill, together with his reply, 9 pages, 8vo, April/May 1858
