velvet covered dial, silvered chapterring with Roman numerals and outer five minute marking signed C. van der Mark Zaandam, cast brass cherub spandrels and foliate mount below, strip frame brass movement with verge escapement, knife-edge suspended horse rider pendulum, outer countwheel Dutch half hour striking on two bells and passing strike for the quarters, alarm on the large bell, topped by a later atlas, possible later pierced cast front fret and side frets, moulded rosewood veneered case with twisted columns flanking the dial, shaped rosewood veneered backboard with brass lenticle
