Catalogue Note

Painted in the summer of 1895 in Seville, this is a portrait of the artist's nephew, one of his sister Antonia's five children. Manuel's siblings, Roma, Eloisa, Antonio and Pablo were also painted by their uncle that year. They were regarded as masterpieces by Eugenio Sedano, reviewing the works of Sevillian painters in 1896.
