Catalogue Note
In Words and Pictures Quentin Blake refers to several shows he undertook for Mel Camlan in the 1970s for which he drew pictures of various subjects including ` a number of rather scruffy men who seemed to be owl-fanciers' and other pictures of people, often dancing, with birds. He has reproduced several of these on pages 130-135, including one similar to the present series of three pictures of a scarecrow-type man walking on stilts.
