Overview
The Photographs Department is pleased to present in our annual meeting during the Paris Photo fair a selection from the Collection of the Estelle and Hervé Francès Foundation. This collection of great diversity shows the unfailing curiosity of these two collectors who have never ceased to enrich their collection over the years. Some thirty significant works from this journey have been selected, including exceptional prints by Tracey Emin, Richard Avedon and South Africa's Pieter Hugo.
The sale also includes a rich selection of prints and periods, rare works from the 19th century, including one of the first views of Notre-Dame de Paris, but also surrealist photographs by artists such as Hans Bellmer and Man Ray, as well as a wide selection of important Contemporary Photographs, including works by Thomas Struth, Cindy Sherman and Wolfgang Tillmans.
