The second in the four-part Masterworks of Time series, Adolf Lange: The Golden Era of Glashutte, will take place in Geneva on 11 November.
The sale is led by an exceptional group of A. Lange & Söhne pieces, including a pink gold perpetual calendar minute repeating grande and petite sonnerie keyless lever clock watch with moon phases, split seconds chronograph, and register, No. 41277. Produced in 1901, this Grande Complication was the first of a series of only nine ultra-complicated pieces created between 1901 and 1928. Another exceptional A. Lange & Söhne piece is an open faced tourbillon watch in silver.
Pieces by other major German and European makers complement the group of A. Lange & Söhne watches. The sale represents a diversity of makers, including Breguet, Dent, and Patek Philippe. The sale encompasses over 400 years of horological history and celebrates the incredible contributions of German watchmakers within it.
