Sotheby’s is honored to offer the Legacy Collection: A Drinking Cellar on April 6th in New York. The sale features mature wines from Burgundy, Bordeaux, Rhone and Italy rarely seen at auction. The sale begins with forty lots from DRC featuring full cases of 2001 Echezeaux, 1996 Grands Echezeaux and 1996 Richebourg. Superlative lots follow from Sylvain Cathiard, Clair Daü, Domaine Dujac (magnums), René Engel, Henri Jayer, Domaine Leroy, Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, Mugneret Gibourg and Christophe Roumier. Bordeaux’s legendary 1982 vintage is well represented with lots from Haut Brion (both bottles and magnums), Latour, Margaux (magnums), Mouton Rothschild, Lafleur, La Conseillante, Latour à Pomerol, Vieux Château Certan, Ausone and Pavie. Highlights from other regions include magnums of 1985 Hermitage, La Chapelle from Paul Jaboulet Aîné, Vega Sicilia 'Unico' from 1936, 1953 and 1961 and large case quantity parcels of Dom Perignon 1992 and 1999 and Ornellaia 2003.
