Sotheby’s is very pleased to announce its collaboration with Allan Stone Projects in offering a selection of works from the Allan Stone Collection. The online-only sale will showcase the breadth of Allan Stone’s renowned eye for recognizing talent. In a unique viewing experience, Sotheby’s will highlight various works in our space while the larger preview of the sale will be presented at Allan Stone Projects from November 27 through December 10. Allan Stone was one of the earliest supporters of numerous artists, from the giants of Abstract Expressionism, such as Willem de Kooning, Franz Kline, and John Chamberlain to less well-known artists of significant talent such as Dorothy Grebenak, Edith Schloss and John O’Reilly. Allan Stone was the New York dealer for Wayne Thiebaud for over forty years and was the first gallery to show Jack Whitten in New York. In addition to these artists, works by Arshile Gorky, Joseph Cornell and James Havard, will also be included.
