HONG KONG, 7 October 2011: Sotheby's Autumn 2011 Important Watches sale, in Hong Kong, was the largest and most valuable sale of Watches in the company's history. The auction achieved HK$112 million / US$14 million, exceeding the pre-sale high estimate of HK$105 million / US$13.5 million*.
23 lots were sold in excess of HK$1 million / US$128,205 and the top lot of the sale was a Vintage Patek Philippe Ref. 1518 Pink Gold Wristwatch, which achieved HK$5.54 million / US$710,256 (High Estimate HK$4.8 million / US$610,000*). World auction records were set for a Patek Philippe Ref. 3939 Yellow Gold Wristwatch (HK$4.22 million / US$541,025) and a Patek Philippe Enamel Solar Dome Clock (HK$2.06 million / US$261,102).
