Assembled over little more than two decades, between the early 1990s and the mid 2010s, the Nixon Collection is one of the most important drawings collections of recent times, reflecting a combination of exceptional connoisseurship and impeccable, highly personal taste. Major exhibitions of the collection have been held at the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC, and at the Morgan Library and Museum in New York, as well as at the Smith College Museum of Art and the Herbert F. Johnson Museum at Cornell University.&nbsp; Although the collection is particularly strong in Italian drawings of the 16th to 18th centuries and French drawings of the 18th and early 19th centuries, its geographical and chronological range is remarkable; the 130 or so drawings to be included in the sale span more than four centuries, from circa 1500 to circa 1900, and include not only exceptional Italian and French drawings, but also superb works from the Dutch, Flemish, German and British schools.&nbsp;&nbsp; Sale Number: N12026
