A luminous synthesis of materiality and spirit, Imagen Paisaje I exemplifies Olga de Amaral’s transcendent approach to fiber. Woven with linen, gesso, and gold leaf, the work transforms textile into terrain—an abstract landscape radiant with light and memory. Rooted in Colombia’s rich weaving traditions and influenced by modernist abstraction, de Amaral’s practice dissolves boundaries between painting, sculpture, and craft. A masterwork from her celebrated Paisajes series, Imagen Paisaje I stands as a highlight of the Contemporary Day Auction—resonant, resplendent and timeless.
