The undisputed highlight of which is the celebrated King Farouk Singing Bird Necessaire à Broderie with Music box. Created by the masters of Frères Rochat in 1815, it has not been publicly offered since Sotheby’s last sold it in 1954 during the Palace Collections of Egypt. Among our other highlights are are one of the twelve Patek Philippe bird boxes, an Oval box from Jaquet-Droz, and an elegant and diminutive Rochat box of similar vintage.

This December season, Sotheby’s New York is thrilled to present a compelling mix of vintage, modern, and independent timepieces. Among its many highlights are the Heuer Champions series, which pays tribute to the golden era of racing. Anchored by the Heuer Monaco 1133B worn by Steve McQueen during the filming of 'LeMans', the watches of that section bring the thrill of motorsport to life. Moving 12,460ft beneath the racetrack, is where you will find a pair of Rolex Submariners used on multiple dives to RMS Titanic - one of which even appearing on screen in the famous James Cameron film. Coming directly from a pioneer of underwater cinematography who helped make some of the biggest films of the 20th century. For collectors of vintage, we are proud to offer a beautiful selection of mid-century complicated Patek Philippe, and Rolex with a fresh-to-market John Player Special of particular note.
