The sale is led by two masterpieces in marble: The serene Nymph at a Fountain by the important Spanish sculptor Felipe Moratilla, of which another version is at the Prado Museum, and a life-size group of Venus and Cupid by the British sculptor Sir Charles Lawes-Wittewronge. Further highlights in this material include the figure of Agiatezza perduta by Enrico Butti, an exemplar of Italian virtuoso marble carving.
