Sotheby’s April Modern Discoveries Sale spans the art historical movements of the 19th and 20th centuries, ranging from an elegant selection of works by the masters of Impressionism, through to the works of the Surrealists, Orphists and the wide-ranging œuvre of Pablo Picasso. Highlights of the sale include a wonderful group of works by Picasso coming from the collection of the artist’s granddaughter Marina Picasso. Celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the artist’s death, Sotheby’s will be offering works on paper, sculpture and ceramics by the artist as well as some of his palettes! Further highlights include works by Paul Klee, Sonia Delaunay, Françoise Gilot and Salvador Dalí as well as an oil by Natalia Goncharova.
